Job Description Summary

Under the guidance of the Head Football Coach will assist with coaching, scouting and recruiting efforts, while adhering to NCAA, Mid-American Conference, University and departmental rules and regulations.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • On-field coaching during all practices, games and off-season workouts
  • Participate in all staff and position meetings to help teach/coach and develop players
  • Breakdown opponent film and to provide scouting information to coaching staff and players
  • Help execute recruiting and communication plans for prospective student-athletes
  • Help maintain the football recruiting databases and accurate information
  • Assist with official and unofficial visits to campus and scouting visits
  • Assist the Director of Football Operations with other administrative duties associated with practice, competition, and football related events and projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Previous experience with an intercollegiate athletic program

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends, and travel out of town.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of DVSport, PFF, Hudl and ARMS
  • Proficient in the use of social media for communication
  • Possess exceptional professional skills including customer service, organization, communication (verbally and written), and collaboration
  • Strong working knowledge of all NCAA rules and regulations with an emphasis on recruiting bylaws
  • Must possess the ability to meet project deadlines and work under time constraint and pressure.
  • Technical football knowledge including terminology, schemes, and procedures that are used in football.
