Job description

Position Summary

East Coast Container is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class B Delivery Driver to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and picking up refuse dumpsters, transporting equipment to customer locations, and assisting service and installation crews with the setup and installation of roll-off compactors.

This position combines commercial driving, customer service, equipment handling, and hands-on field support. Candidates must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Operate company vehicles requiring a CDL Class B license in a safe and professional manner.

· Deliver, position, exchange, and remove refuse dumpsters at customer locations.

· Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

· Ensure compliance with NYC and DOT regulations and company safety policies.

· Secure loads and verify equipment are transported safely.

· Load, unload, and move equipment, tools, and materials as needed.

· Maintain accurate delivery, pickup, and service records.

· Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch personnel, and team members.

· Inspect equipment for damage and report maintenance concerns.

· Keep vehicles, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.

· Assist with general warehouse and yard duties when required.

Qualifications

Required

· Valid CDL Class B Driver's License.

· Clean driving record.

· Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.

· Ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.

· Strong commitment to safety and customer service.

· Reliable attendance and punctuality.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred

· Experience operating a knuckle boom and or yard forklift

· Experience in waste, recycling, construction, or equipment delivery industries.

· Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hydraulic equipment.

· Experience assisting with equipment installations or field service work.

Physical Requirements

· Frequent climbing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

· Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicles multiple times throughout the day.

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

· Ability to safely lift and move equipment and materials.
