Job description

We are seeking a talented experienced Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow our New England markets (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire). This role is focused on driving revenue through prospecting, account management, and full-cycle sales of waste-handling equipment (Roll Off Dumpsters, Containers, Compactors, etc). You will be responsible for developing new business, strengthening existing customer relationships, and closing deals.

This is a field-based role designed for a self-motivated, entrepreneurial-minded individual with strong technical expertise, who thrives on direct engagement with customers at job sites, construction projects, and other relevant locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business through prospecting, cold outreach, job site visits, referrals, conferences, tradeshows, and networking within the industry.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries and convert leads into qualified opportunities.
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, driving opportunities through the full sales cycle.
  • Identify decision-makers and build relationships with customers, haulers, contractors, municipalities, and dealers.
  • Attend trade shows, association events, and industry functions to stay connected with the market.
  • Conduct regular in-person visits to foster strong relationships and uncover new opportunities.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to expand business.
  • Advise customers on equipment selection based on site conditions and application requirements.
  • Prepare quotes, negotiate pricing, and close deals while ensuring margin expectations are met.
  • Follow up on open opportunities to drive timely conversions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, track pipeline progress, and provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Submit regular reports and offer market and competitive insights.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of sales or technical sales experience (experience in industrial, construction, or equipment sales preferred).
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain complex products.
  • Excellent follow-up and closing skills.
  • Customer-first attitude and a genuine desire to help clients succeed.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.

Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary: $40,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience + Uncapped commission. On-target earnings of $60,000 to $150,000 for top performers.
