Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Director of Manufacturing / Plant Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt

Join a Team That Builds What Others Can’t.

At Align Production Systems, we engineer custom solutions for the world’s toughest material handling challenges. We are seeking a high-energy, self-motivated Welder to join our fabrication team. This role requires a hands-on professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, maintains a positive attitude, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

This position plays a direct role in delivering safe, high-quality systems that meet customer expectations and production schedules.

What You’ll Do:

  • Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and mechanical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding to AWS standards
  • Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, and dimensional accuracy of fabricated components
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and jib cranes for material movement and part positioning
  • Follow proper rigging and lifting procedures in compliance with plant safety standards
  • Maintain high quality standards while meeting production timelines
  • Identify and communicate fabrication issues proactively
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

What You Bring:

Required:

  • 5+ years of welding/fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and jib cranes in an industrial setting
  • Strong understanding of welding materials, methods, and AWS standards
  • High proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High energy level and positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Travel occasionally to customer site

Preferred:

  • Experience in custom or low-volume/high-mix production environments
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks and ability to interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings

Why Align?

  • Be part of a team that designs and builds unique, high-impact systems
  • Work on custom projects—not repetitive production welding
  • Opportunity for skill growth and advancement
  • Recognition for craftsmanship and continuous improvement

Working Conditions:

  • Shop-floor environment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
  • Standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent use of overhead and jib cranes for material handling
