Job Summary
We are seeking qualified and motivated part-time faculty to teach BCTC First Year Experience (FYE) courses. FYE classes are available at each campus in the BCTC service area, both day and evening times. FYE classes are offered in varying modalities, including standard on-campus, hybrid, online, or remote (online with synchronous meetings).
The ideal instructor for the FYE courses will be passionate about student success and have strong digital and technology skills for effective course instruction. The optimal candidate will have familiarity with the campus resources and services to best guide and support students. Part-time FYE faculty are paid per credit hour based on current BCTC adjunct faculty rate indicated in the Salary Range. To be considered for an adjunct faculty position, transcripts of all college work and a current resume/vita should be included in the application materials.
Subjects taught may include:

FYE 110 (3 credit hours) First Year Experiences and Applications

Job Duties:
Provide instruction for on campus, hybrid, and/or online courses aligned with the program/area-approved course learning outcomes and objectives;
Prepare adequately for classes appropriate to the delivery mode and meet all scheduled class days;
Maintain course materials and an updated gradebook within the learning management system, Blackboard;
Provide weekly class announcements and timely communication with students and program coordinator;
Report student progress throughout the semester through the college early alert system and posting of midterm and final grades;
Participate in the development, implementation, and reporting outcomes of program and course assessments;
Complete all required mandatory and professional development training required by KCTCS, BCTC, and the FYE Program Coordinator;
Complete additional institutional reporting as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree in any field.
Essential digital literacy skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Student Development, Information Technology, Healthcare, or related area.
Minimum two years of teaching experience with different modalities of instruction
Experience with a learning management system (Blackboard) and other instructional technology.
Excellent information and digital literacy skills and experience with Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
Professionalism and exemplary communication and presentation skills.
