Position Details
The Office of Campus Recreation at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Part-Time Group Fitness Instructor. The position teaches group fitness classes to faculty, staff, and students. As a member of the Office of Student Affairs, this position will uphold the values of diversity and inclusion, collaboration, personal responsibility, professionalism and community and citizenship.
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you would be responsible for teaching cardio and/or strength based group fitness classes to the members of the Fitness & Recreation Center.
Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of participants by enforcing and adhering to risk management guidelines and policies
Aid with fitness-related special events hosted by Campus Recreation Department
Instruction of at least two classes per week is required. (Some weekend and evening classes may be required)
Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds
Requirements
Certification through AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NETA, or other nationally recognized fitness organization(s) is required
Excellent communication skills with participants and supervisor
First Aid/ CPR is highly recommended, but not required
Experience is preferred, but not required
Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office
Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices

Pay Rate
$20.00 per hour
Work Schedule
This is a part-time seasonal temporary position. Hours will not exceed 29 hours/1000 hours per calendar year.
