The Media Executive (ME) is responsible for driving new business development, retaining clients, and growing advertising revenue across our broadcast, digital, and sports media portfolios.
As an ME, you will act as a trusted marketing consultant, designing and selling tailored, multi-platform campaigns using a premier suite of products: Broadcast Television, AZ Family Sports, Programmatic (Display, Video, Native), Streaming TV (OTT/CTV), Email Marketing, Paid Social, SEM, and SEO.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development & Lead Generation
• Prospecting & Outreach: Actively identify, cold-call, and secure meetings with key decision-makers and business owners in the Phoenix market.
• Consultative Selling: Conduct thorough client discovery sessions to understand business goals, pain points, and target audiences.
• Strategic Planning: Formulate and present comprehensive, multi-platform media plans that align broadcast reach with targeted digital strategies.
Client Relationship & Book Management
Revenue Growth
• Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals, growing your active book of business through consistent upselling and renewals.
• Account Retention: Provide exemplary client service, monitoring campaign performance, conducting regular performance reviews, and optimizing strategies to ensure long-term client retention.
• CRM Precision: Manage sales pipelines, client contacts, and contract details diligently using CRM and sales management tools.
Collaboration & Product Expertise
Product Mastery
• Stay ahead of media trends and master Gray Media's evolving suite of broadcast, sports, and advanced digital advertising solutions.
Cross-Functional Teamwork
• Collaborate closely with creative services, digital execution teams, traffic departments, and corporate Gray Media teams to ensure flawless execution of client campaigns.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Experience: 2+ years of successful media sales, business-to-business (B2B) sales, or agency account management experience, with a proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales quotas.
• Strategic Thinking: Strong sales acumen with the ability to build and deliver professional, high-impact marketing presentations.
• Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to network, prospect, and cultivate long-term relationships with business owners and executive-level decision-makers.
Preferred Skills & Core Competencies
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Understanding of Google Analytics (GA4) is a significant advantage.
