$25.30 - $37.95Major Responsibilities:Supervisor plans, coordinates, and monitors the daily activities in the department to provide effective and efficient service according to fluctuating workload demands and operational needs 1) Produce staffing assignments and work schedules, maintains adequate staffing levels and coverage. 2) Coordinates employee activities throughout the day to ensure provision of services according to established procedures 3) Monitors accuracy and funcionality of the TeleTracking System including troubleshooting of the system, programming new parameters and assigning new user access. 4) Keeps abreast of high census areas and regulates transport accordingly 5) Assists in dispatching when short staffed or in times of large workload demands to ensure timeliness of service 6) Approves schedule changes and vacation requests. 7) Maintains attendance records. 8) Maintain departments productivity reports. 9)Coordinates the purchase and maintenance of equipment (wheelchairs and carts) used by the department to ensure availability and promptness of service.Selects orients, develops, and evaluates associates maintaining a highly motivated staff, capable of successfully performing needed services which comply with standards set by the department, hospital, Accrediting Organization and other regulatory agencies. 1) Interviews employment candidates and selects the most appropriate person for hire 2) Schedules new employees for hospital orientation as well as department orientation. 3) Completes performance reviews of staff in a timely manner and establishes a development plan for each employee and motivates employees to attain established goals. 4) Determines salary increases 5) Process and documents corrective action, progressive disciplinary action, and termination of employees. 6) Process Report Express payroll. 7) Maintains employee records. 8) Develops standards for attire and performance.Provide effective quality service for patients through Quality assurance 1) Conducts monthly meetingsto provide information and open communications. 2) Supports and enforces hospital and department policies and procedures 3) Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures. 4) Quality assurance- participates in bed management team to ensure timely transport of patients being discharged 5) Tracks Quality Assurance indicators and productivity and compiles productivity reports monthly. 6) Provides training based on identified needs 7)Participates in Patient Safety team to ensure proper patient Identification and Safety.Provides assistance and support to staff 1) Interacts with staff throughout hospital 2) Communicates with nursing, etc, to discuss work-related issues. Attends any regular meetings or committees. 3) Communicates with patients and families and health care team in a competent, courteous and professional manner 4) Demonstrates the ability to communicate appropriately with patients of various ages, i.e.: children, infants, adolescents' adults and geriatrics. 5) Transports patients during staff shortage in department. (Less than 5%) 6) Provides information (man power hours needed, equipment and supplies needed) to prepare budget and assist in developing goals in conjunction with Manager of Clinical Operations and CRU 7) Responds to emergency codes within the transport department.Participation of self-development by attending mandatory inservices 1) Attends inservice programs on equipment use and operation 2) Attends all mandatory inservice programs and management trainingEducation/Experience Required: High School education This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of patients treated, i.e. understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups in preferred. 5-6 years hospital/ patient transportation including 1-2 years lead or supervisory experienceKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Good communication skills. Ability to anticipate patient, employee and unit needs and refer for appropriate action. Customer Service Skills Ability to read and write English N/A Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Main Responsibilities are Mon-Friday First shift 06-1430 or Second Shift 1430-2300. Ability to work holidays, and works different shifts to accommodate staffing needs. Ability to perform lifting/standing activities related to patients. Ability to perform very heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds occasionally and /or excess of 50 pounds frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly. Ability to maneuver and operate equipment used by the department. Routinely works with potentially infectious specimens and patients. Ability to assist in event of a fire or other disaster.
