Description
Location: Hooks, Texas
EEC is seeking a temporary, SCA, Guard responsible for protecting company personnel, visitors, tenants, property, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment. This role conducts active patrols, enforces access control, monitors surveillance equipment, responds to emergencies, and supports overall security operations in coordination with the Security Sergeant and other officers. In this position, you will:
  • Conduct routine foot patrols of buildings, grounds, gates, and perimeter fences in all weather conditions to ensure safety and security.
  • Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and security equipment to detect suspicious or unsafe activities.
  • Control and verify access at entry points; permit or deny entry, direct traffic, and manage crowd flow as needed.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to emergencies, disturbances, alarms, and incidents, following company policy and legal guidelines.
  • Document all security activities, incidents, and observations in accurate and timely daily reports.
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.

Basic Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Proven experience in a security or protective services role.
  • Helpful, professional, and courteous attitude with strong situational awareness.
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR/BLS, and self-defense expected.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and handle physical demands of foot patrol.
  • Travel: Minimal; primarily onsite presence required.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with security equipment, CCTV systems, and alarm monitoring software.
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Prior military or law enforcement experience.

SCA rate is $16.40 (+ health and welfare of $4.80 per hour for the first 40 hours). Overtime work is required and OT rates will apply on the base hourly rate (note: OT is not paid on the H&W rate). Pay rate offered may be affected by education, training, certifications, experience, skills, level of responsibility, and location.
