Description Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training Requires education and/or experience to attain the following: High School Diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in public/business administration, major event or facility scheduling, cash handling and accounting responsibilities and basic website development and maintenance. Functional knowledge of business office and telephone etiquette and equipment; general office practices and procedures; business English; general customer service techniques; basic bookkeeping and filing practices; and computer operations including related software applications. Ability to deal effectively and politely with the public and exercise sound principles of customer service; balance complex usage regulations with scheduling requirements; use computer and relevant software to implement scheduling decisions and to acquire a working knowledge of park facilities and permit regulations; follow guidelines including City of Boise ordinances, departmental policies and procedures, regulations governing the use of specific facilities and special use permit processes and regulations; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City of Boise employees and the public; communicate effectively in the English Language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain regular attendance; perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record. Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Communications, Event Planning or related field and 4 years of related experience. This position works: occasionally in the evenings and weekends as required. Supplemental Information Two years of experience managing art exhibitions, public art, or other capital projects, with considerable interactions with the general public, as well as experience utilizing electronic media and managing related databases.

Functional knowledge of art administration and management, public relations requirements and strategies; office practices and procedures; and spreadsheet, database, and word processing software packages. Ability to plan, develop and successfully implement projects from inception to completion; effectively speak in public; work well under pressure; work a flexible schedule which may include some evenings and weekends; provide effective oversight of independent contractor work; collect materials from various sources and organize into concise reports; analyze accounting data and prepare and present statistical and narrative reports; effectively communicate mission of the Department and the Public Arts Program; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees and the public; communicate effectively in the English language (verbally and in writing) at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
