Job description

Harrison County Hospital is seeking to hire a Cardiac Rehab Unit Secretary/Telemetry Tech.

This position is full-time, days, Monday-Friday, 32 hrs/wk.

This position performs as a receptionist, ward clerk, patient assistant and a telemetry tech. Is accountable as the focal communication source in the cardiac rehab department through interaction with patients, visitors, staff, physicians, and other departments. Responsibilities include all aspects of clerical duties, and the monitoring of the telemetry patients and rhythm interpretation. Adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting teamwork among co-workers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED Certificate
  • Completes Dysrhythmia/Telemetry Class within one month of employment with a score of 84% or higher.
  • CNA program or minimum one year experience as a nursing assistant or tech or EMT training preferred

SKILLS:

  • Computer knowledge/ Order Entry
  • Use of fax machine and copier
  • Cardiac monitoring - recommended
  • Perform V/S
  • Clerical duties

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Good knowledge of medical terminology
  • Legible handwriting
