COMPANY OVERVIEW: MOBIS Technical Center of North America is the Research & Development Center for Hyundai MOBIS, a Tier 1 supplier and an affiliate under Hyundai Motor Group. MOBIS produces and supplies a wide variety of automotive components to customers including component modules (Electronics, cockpit and front-end module), core system, eco-friendly and DAS-mechatronics. Mobis delivers the design and development of advanced engineering, autonomous driving, infotainment, component modules, safety, brake and steering systems, lamp, ICS/electronics and software development solutions that consider the safety and convenience of our customers as well as the future.
Requirements
Role Overview: The Senior Telematics Engineer provides advanced technical leadership in Telematics system development, validation, and feature integration. This role interprets and influences Telematics specifications, leads validation strategy, collaborates with HQ and internal engineering teams, and mentors junior engineers. The position requires strong communication skills, cross functional leadership, and deep experience with OEM vehicle development from concept through production. This role also contributes to methodology improvement, exploratory testing, and advanced test case development across Telematics, multimedia, and broadcast domains.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Lead interpretation of Telematics specifications and functional requirements.
  • Oversee construction and execution of Telematics function validation plans and testing.
  • Provide senior-level expertise in HU system and sub-system specifications.
  • Evaluate new and current Telematics feature requirements and collaborate with HQ to influence design direction.
  • Serve as a technical lead for internal core development teams.
  • Communicate effectively with software design and validation teams to improve overall system performance.
  • Prepare and review technical evaluations and proposals for engineering change requests.
  • Participate in and influence design reviews for software and hardware.
  • Own test and design definitions and requirements at a senior engineering level.
  • Lead project management activities, including project reviews and cross-functional coordination.
  • Oversee creation of system test plans based on specifications and industry standards.
  • Analyze test results using all types of logs and provide senior-level root-cause analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop test cases based on exploratory testing, methodology improvements, and change requests.
  • Create test reports based on findings and validation outcomes.
  • Perform testing of Telematics, multimedia, and broadcast systems through both simulation environments and in-vehicle evaluations.

AUTHORITY & SCOPE: This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required

Qualifications: (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 5-7 years of experience in Telematics engineering, validation, or system development
  • Experience with OEM vehicle development projects from start to production
  • Design and/or validation experience in Telematics systems
  • Software testing experience in vehicle infotainment systems
  • Experience in test case development and specification/requirement analysis

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Senior-level Telematics engineering and leadership capability
  • Experience with CAN, TCP/IP, ADB, and automotive communication technologies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional and global collaboration
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and resolve complex issues
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Education & Experience:
  • Advanced experience with global OEM development cycles
  • Experience influencing system-level architecture and feature roadmaps
  • Korean language ability
  • Senior-level decision-making skills
