The Telematics Administrator is a Fleet Operations office-based position responsible for the end-to-end management, data integrity, and performance optimization of all telematics systems across a large, diverse connected fleet. This role serves as the subject matter expert for all OEM and after-market telematics solutions and is the primary integration owner between telematics data sources and the centralized Equipment Management System (EMS). The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of telematics hardware and software with strong data analytics capabilities and a systematic approach to troubleshooting complex, multi-platform fleet connectivity environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain telematics platforms, GPS devices, and dash camera systems across the fleet
  • Manage telematics data integrations between OEM platforms and the Equipment Management System (EMS)
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, hardware, and data issues involving GPS devices, cameras, APIs, and fleet systems
  • Generate fleet performance reports including utilization, idle time, fault codes, downtime, and safety metrics
  • Coordinate telematics hardware installations, replacements, and vendor support
  • Support incident investigations through dash camera footage retrieval and telematics data analysis
  • Maintain accurate asset-to-device assignments and fleet data integrity
  • Develop SOPs, documentation, and process improvements related to telematics operations

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in telematics, fleet operations, or heavy equipment technology
  • Experience with OEM and aftermarket telematics platforms such as Samsara, Geotag, or Trimble
  • Strong troubleshooting and data analysis skills
  • Familiarity with APIs, GPS systems, CAN Bus/J1939, and fleet reporting
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Construction or heavy equipment industry experience preferred
