Job description

Advisory UX Designer, IBM Corporation, Austin, TX (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Lead the end-to-end design strategy for security services to ensure experiences are scalable, accessible, and aligned with company’s security vision. Define and deliver enterprise-grade, scalable user experiences for complex security workflows. Drive design initiatives across multiple products and influence product roadmaps. Implement advanced design techniques and leverage AI-driven patterns to enhance automation, personalization, and security awareness. Identify and resolve UX gaps across workflows using design thinking and domain expertise to shape long-term product evolution. Serve as a cloud security UX expert, embed domain expertise into key strategic design decisions to ensure informed and impactful outcomes. Plan and lead user research efforts, translating findings into actionable design improvements and new product opportunities. Represent user perspectives in cross-functional discussions and ensure accessibility, usability, and security are prioritized throughout the product lifecycle. Collaborate with engineering, product management, and security architecture teams to align user needs with technical feasibility and business objectives. Facilitate design thinking workshops with internal teams and enterprise clients to inform product roadmap direction. Analyze customer business challenges to inform and guide effective design decisions. Monitor emerging trends in UX, AI, and cloud security to inspire and drive ongoing innovation. Manage multiple priorities independently and deliver high-quality results in a demanding environment. Create high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, and detailed specifications to ensure seamless development and implementation. Conduct post-launch evaluations and enhance the user experience based on feedback. Mentor junior designers by providing guidance, feedback, and professional support. Advocate for user needs and accessibility at every stage of the product development process. Advocate for a culture of collaboration, design excellence, and continuous growth. Utilize: Figma Design Tool, User-Centered Design Methodology, Security-Driven UX, Identity and Access Management (IAM) Frameworks, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Frameworks, Design Thinking Methods. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Information Science, Web Design, Graphic Design or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a UX Designer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Figma Design Tool, User-Centered Design Methodology, Security-Driven UX, Identity and Access Management (IAM) Frameworks, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) Frameworks, Design Thinking Methods. $153109 to $180000 per year.
