Job description

Duties Description The Information Technology Specialist 2 supports the Justice Center's primary applications by helping staff effectively use the system in their day-to-day work. This role serves as a point of contact for users, resolving issues, managing system access, and supporting the ongoing use of the system throughout the agency. This is a hands-on support role that requires strong problem-solving, clear communication, and attention to detail.

Job Duties Provide application support to users via phone and email; troubleshoot and resolve issues or escalate, as appropriate Create, update, and deactivate user accounts in accordance with established policies and procedures Assign and maintain appropriate system access based on user roles and responsibilities Document and track user issues to ensure timely resolution and identify recurring problems Develop and maintain user documentation, including job aids and reference materials Assist with application updates by performing basic testing and validation activities Communicate with users and internal staff to provide updates, clarify issues, and ensure resolution Identify and communicate recurring issues or system concerns to appropriate staff Support day-to-day system operations to ensure availability and usability for agency staff Minimum Qualifications Open Competitive: A Bachelor's or higher level degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, OR a Bachelor's or higher level related degree with eighteen credit hours in Computer Science OR a total of four years of experience in the following computer related areas: network, server, storage, and systems management; telecommunications; IT customer support and training; computer installation, diagnosis and repair; technical writing; computer security; knowledge management; database administration, design and management; internet/intranet development, design, and maintenance; information technology project management; design and development of geographic information systems or computer aided drafting applications; computer programming; business/systems analysis; program design; or program testing.
