Job description

American Medical Association seeks Data Engineer II at its facility located at 330 North Wabash, Suite 39300, Chicago, IL 60611.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Develop and support MDM platform solution advancing the AMA's Physician Masterfile as an authoritative source of physician data. Conduct multiple projects and process flows to collect, enrich, and manage the AMA's Physician Masterfile and related data, producing consistent, accurate, and timely analysis of metrics and key performance indicators, scorecards and reports that lead to informed business decisions. Responsible for enhancing the collection, enrichment, maintenance, management, extraction, transformation and syndication of AMA data that optimizes current usage and enables new business uses of these data assets. Work on modern data infrastructure on cloud to build a stronger core for the platform and data access environment. Develop, automate, and continually improve Health Solutions data assets leveraging Master Data Management platform. Ingest multiple data feeds and draft business rules, matching rules to create robust algorithms to create unified and master view of physician data sets. Manage data assets to meet Health Solutions business needs through agile approach, testing proofs-of-concept to demonstrate value; incorporate testing results in future development. Identify issues in the AMA's data assets and supporting tools and collaborate with colleagues or escalate to management to develop solutions. Support the Data Management group and overall Health Solutions team through insightful data analysis and the development of analytical reporting, including business rule adherence, source file processing timeliness, and data fitness of use. Tailor analytical/reporting output through usage of visualizations and dashboards; utilize technical acumen to automate reports over time and eliminate unnecessary manual processes. Participate in requirements gathering for the creation of new product files. Collaborate with Data Science and Analytics and Data Product teams to automate new product file creation and delivery. Identify areas for data quality improvement and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of front-end error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies. Develop testing and processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy of the data, as well as proof of concept matching exercise to vet external data sources and gauge benefit. Assist HS and AMA colleagues developing approaches to data projects, including selection of tools. Develop and maintain tools to output data and analysis, including ETL, Data quality rules, fuzzy matching, scorecards, and other reporting and analysis. Telecommuting: Hybrid - 3 days a week. Position requires the applicant to be a resident of one of the following states: CA, DC, FL, IL, IN, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OH, SC, VA, or WI.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Programming, or in a related field, plus 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Developing analytical reports in areas including business rule adherence, source file processing, and data fitness of use; (2) Utilizing traditional analytical tools such as Power BI, to aid in the establishment of automated monitoring around multiple data sources; (3) Using SQL to extract and manipulate multiple complex datasets to facilitate analysis and quality monitoring; (4) Utilizing programming languages including Python or Java to create automated data pipelines; (5) Using data modeling/structures to allow for creation of new data models; (6) Utilizing batch matching methodologies to leverage new data sets to enhance existing data; and (7) Implementing modern engineering practices, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines to facilitate prepping environments for data structures and pipelines, and to allow for low-touch testing of builds in those environments.
RATE OF PAY: $97,461-$160,650 per year
