The Producer/Director works with the Senior Producer/Director to manage production of programs and digital media content for UNO television within the School of Communication. This role requires a creative and innovative approach to generating and producing high-quality content. This position is responsible for assisting in the hiring, training and scheduling of student crews while also maintaining and managing the space and equipment of the studio and the field. This includes developing and executing creative concepts, working with clients, and overseeing the production process. This position may teach two JMC courses per academic year.
Job Duties
Responsibility Area: Production Duties:
Perform and manage various aspects of video field and studio production (audio/video switching, scripting, shooting, lighting, editing, motion design & graphics and securing releases as necessary) to support faculty and student productions.
Percentage Of Time 40 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Budgetary Duties:
Propose project budgets and track expenses, develop cost estimates for equipment purchases, create purchase requests and submit for approval., Create invoices for production work. Work with the Senior Producer/Director to screen and hire applicants for student crews. Routinely provide project reports to the Senior Producer/Director.

Train and supervise student crews.

Identify potential clients, partners, and collaborators aligned with our vision, conducting thorough research to understand their needs and objectives. Create comprehensive outreach strategies, employing optimal methods, channels, and messaging to communicate UNO-TV's value and foster strong connections on campus and in the community.
Percentage Of Time 10 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Maintenance Duties:
Maintain studio and field production equipment for School of Communication; develop plans for equipment upgrades.
Percentage Of Time 5 Essential Function: Yes Responsibility Area: Academic Duties:
Availability to teach a production-related course at least twice per academic year.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required Education
Associates Degree in Mass Communication or closely related field.
Required Experience
Two years' experience in video production.
Required License/Certification

This position requires regular and prompt attendance during the working hours scheduled by the supervisor.
Preferred Education
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mass Communication or closely related field.
Preferred Experience
Broadcast television experience preferred.
