Job description

Casne Engineering is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented person to provide telecommunications engineering services for the Engineering Services department in our Bellevue, WA office. Candidates must exhibit a confident, professional, and positive demeanor and have a genuine interest in helping customers succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop network topology for critical infrastructure, control systems, and operational technology.
  • Create detailed floor plans, riser diagrams, cable schedules, and specifications for materials, construction, and testing.
  • Understand and implement TIA and BICSI standards and guidelines.
  • Design pathway and structured cabling for inside and outside plant infrastructure consisting of copper, fiber optic, and wireless networks.
  • Design telemetry systems utilizing radio, microwave, cellular, or WiFi technologies
  • Configure, implement, and troubleshoot network switches, firewalls, VPNs, modems, and radio equipment
  • Contribute to design of PLC/SCADA, Utility Metering, Life Safety, Security, and Audio/Visual Systems
  • Potential project-related travel up to ~10%

Required (Technical)

  • Associate degree, apprenticeship with 5+ years of experience, or BS degree in engineering with 2+ years of experience
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and management of PDF documents

Required (Business)

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadline-driven tasks effectively and efficiently, including a proactive approach to follow-up
  • Successful completion of background checks (including possible drug testing, depending on the client) for access badging requirements.

Preferences

  • Experience in the preparation of detailed construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Experience in the support of construction and commissioning activities
  • Working experience or certifications associated with the following:
    • Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)
    • Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI)
    • North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP)
    • Cisco CCT, CCNA, CCNP, or CCDE
  • Experience working in datacenters, airports, utilities, renewables, oil & gas, and industrial sector
  • Experience with shared information portals such as SharePoint, Smartsheet, Newforma, Procore, etc.
