Job description

Ledcor Technical Services has been building and servicing communication networks for customers across North America since 1979. We are seeking experienced and dedicated Senior Superintendents to join our team for large-scale long-haul fiber installation projects. The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field operations, developing project plans, and monitors performance. Recognized as an expert, they anticipate client needs and provide solutions, sharing expertise and mentoring colleagues.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Will ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes

  • Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations

  • Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules

  • Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects

  • Working knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project

  • Participates in subcontractor, supplierselection,procurementand negotiations

  • Will set priorities andallocateresources as needed for the entire field team

  • Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Qualifications:

  • 8 plus years ofexperience inas a Telecommunications construction Superintendent

  • Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment

  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset

  • Effective Communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors

  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity toanticipateand address issues

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

Working Conditions:

  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position whichinvolvessitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)

  • This is a site-based position that will require travel as needed to various Ledcor offices and project sites
