We are seeking an experienced Wiring Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the proper installation, testing, and troubleshooting of low-voltage cabling and infrastructure systems in commercial environments. The Wiring Specialist will work closely with infrastructure technicians, system engineers, and account managers to deliver reliable, standards-compliant solutions that support client operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with managers and peers to schedule and complete daily service/work orders at client sites.
  • Install, terminate, and certify low-voltage copper cabling (CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, RJ11, RJ45, 22/6, etc.) to patch panels, 66/110 blocks, and connectors.
  • Perform infrastructure management: install racks, cabinets, routers, switches, patch panels, and cable pathways.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide technical input during client onboarding and project planning.
  • Document cable infrastructure in company-standard diagrams, ticketing systems, and client records.
  • Test and certify cabling using Fluke meters, fiber testers, and certifiers, upload results to client documentation.
  • Install and support door access controls, video surveillance cameras, audio/video conferencing systems, and other IP devices in collaboration with system engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and wiring issues.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety compliance on job sites and in company vehicles.
  • Provide clear updates to clients during installations and resolve onsite concerns professionally.
  • Adhere to TIA/EIA and BICSI standards and manufacturer requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a low-voltage cabling installer (CAT5-CAT6a).
  • Knowledge of cabling standards, infrastructure management (MDF/IDF), and commercial construction sites.
  • Familiarity with AV, surveillance, door access, and telecom systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Experience with hand and power tools (drills, hammers, networking tools, telecom buttsets, etc.).
  • Flexibility with work times and locations (early starts, late finishes, weekends/holidays as needed).
  • Knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI wiring standards.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles (trucks, Transits, boom-lifts) and trailers.


Desired (Not Required) Skills

  • Fiber optic splicing and certification (SC/LC connectors, anaerobic terminations).
  • Experience installing conduit (PVC/metal).
  • Familiarity with wireless access point installation and structured cabling design.


Physical & Compliance Requirements

  • Must live in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work from ladders/heights.
  • Pass regular random drug tests.
  • Follow company policies and procedures on safety.
  • Complete OSHA safety training and certification exams.
  • Wear PPE (hard hats, steel toe shoes, safety vest, glasses, ear protection, harnesses, etc.) as required.
