Quality Assurance Technician
BROADBAND TELECOM SERVICES, INC.
Broadband Telecom Services is a full-service telecommunications construction contracting company with multiple locations throughout the state of Texas.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Quality Assurance technician will be responsible for the quality control review of all telecommunications construction jobs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Review jobs and/or jobsite restoration to ensure quality work performed by BTS employees to ensure work performed meets customer standards & requirements
  • Interpret utility prints/maps to identify the different type of underground utilities
  • Enforcing safety, quality control, ensuring that all work performed adheres to design plans
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional working relationship with other employees, vendors, and clients

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS-INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
  • Previous OSP engineering with a comprehensive knowledge of the telecommunications and fiber optics industry is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of fiber job such as: FTTP, MDU, MTU, SMB/Enterprise and BAU
  • Thorough knowledge of arial & underground fiber, boring, trenching, and plowing
  • Must be able to read, understand, and comprehend engineering design plans
  • Plans, organizes, and completes projects in the shortest, most efficient manner
  • Effectively tracks the progress of various quality assurance fiber projects
  • Proficient written and oral communications skills
  • Skilled in using computers and Penguin (Software)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and provide general assistance to other employees as directed

EDUCATION & LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and a safe driving record.

LANGUAGE/MATHEMATICAL SKILLS & REASONING ABILITY
  • Must be able to use written and verbal communications in English language.

REASONING ABILITY & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to work aloft.
  • Must have manual dexterity and the ability to utilize various hand tools and test equipment.
  • Must be able to drive a truck or van including a truck/van
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to type on a computer, and utilize a smart phone to read and update prints.
  • Must be able to kneel, crawl, push, pull, bend, stoop, lift and dig.
  • Must meet and maintain Company's safe weight policy.
