Base Pay Range: $75,000 - $95,000 USD

Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors and this range represents an estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Base salary is only one part of our compensation package for this role. You may also be eligible for company stock and annual bonus. Responsibilities What Weโ€™re Looking For:

Iridium is seeking aNetworkEngineer II to support and maintain Iridiumโ€™s Gateway telecomand dataarchitecture andassociatedservice subsystems. In this role, you will serve as a key support resource, assisting withfinal-tierescalationsupporttoground systems operations, includingGateway Technical Operations(GTO), Tier 2 Customer Support, and Service Delivery teams. In this role, you will gain valuable experience with satellite telecom gateway technologies across onโ€‘premise and cloud environments. You willcontributedirectly tothe triage activities that impactservicereliability, operationalexcellence, and newservicedeployments.

What Youโ€™ll Do:
  • Collaborate withsenior engineers,vendors, subcontractors, and consultants to resolve technical issues
  • Assist intheoperationand maintenance ofGateway subsystems and services, both onโ€‘premise and cloudโ€‘based
  • Support the administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system, including script updates, alert response, dashboard monitoring, and periodic system reviews
  • Assist in theidentification, investigation, and resolution ofoperational issues
  • Work closely with the Operations team to enhance maintenance procedures and improve troubleshooting success
  • Partner with team members to ensure that highโ€‘quality products and services are ready for production deployment according to schedule
  • Investigate and resolve Tier 2 customer tickets
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation for Gateway network elements and infrastructure
  • Provide technical support to both internal teams and external partners
  • Primarily support the Iridium Certus service suite
Qualifications What Youโ€™ll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 2+ years ofof relevant experience in the telecommunications or a related technical field
  • Working knowledge of Linux (Red Hat/CentOS), IP network infrastructure, VMware, ATCA platforms, and database systems/tools (Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL) from installation through maintenance
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and ideas to others
  • Have confidence and be able to easily build meaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team
  • Must be able to prioritize your tasks, be selfโ€‘aware enough to identify and correct mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed
  • Be active in seeking out ways to improve yourself and gain new knowledge, and be enthusiastic in sharing knowledge with others

  • Any AWS certification (i.e., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified AI Practitioner, etc.)
  • Knowledge of:
    • Communications systems architecture
    • Circuitโ€‘and packetโ€‘switched voice/data communications
    • TCP/IP communications
    • VoIP systems, including network management
  • Experience with IPv4 networks, GSM, telecom systems, or realโ€‘time systems
  • Experience with software lifecycle processes
  • Experience in software development experience (C, C++, Python)
  • Experience in IP network engineering, development, integration, and testing

  • Be on callto support major network issues
  • Be able to travel up to10%
