Department Summary

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Executive – Aviation & Defense Technology & Manufacturing in our Hughes Network Systems Division, supporting our contract engineering and manufacturing services.

This role will drive growth within the U.S. Defense and Homeland Security and Commercial Aviation markets. This group designs, manufactures, and supports advanced RF and connectivity systems for airborne, maritime, ground, and space applications. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development efforts across MilGov contractors, and commercial aviation markets
  • Find and develop new customers, partners, and revenue opportunities
  • Build and communicate a clear gotomarket strategy focused on highprobability pursuits
  • Create and manage a process to evaluate and prioritize opportunities based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility
  • Drive all capture activities, including market analysis, solution creation, and sales execution
  • Monitor emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive products to keep offerings relevant and differentiated
  • Work with Marketing on campaigns, trade shows, conferences, collateral, and social media
  • Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, aircraft and satellite manufacturers, defense contractors, vendors, and partners
  • Travel up to 50% domestically

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, business, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with acquisition processes for the U.S. Department of Defense, Homeland Security, Intelligence Community or commercial aviation (airlines, Tier 1 IFEC, MROs)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional environment
  • Existing network within COCOMs, Armed Services, IC, DHS, and major defense contractors
  • Background in the sale of prototyping and manufacturing services for Defense Telecom, SATCOM, satellite systems, 5G/mesh networks, or
  • Relationships with airlines, IFEC integrators, and MROs; familiarity with DO160G and FAA/EASA certification processes
  • Understanding of FAA Part 145 requirements, RSMs, and QCS, including support for onwing repairs at customer or remote facilities
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills across a large, matrixed organization
  • Ability to analyze complex data and turn it into clear recommendations.
  • Proven strategic thinking and problemsolving skills
  • Strong presentation and executivelevel communication skills with attention to detail
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
