Overview

As a Wireline Telecom Sr Area Manager, you are responsible for implementing and adhering to all Company policies and procedures. The role is to ensure the timely hand-off of jobs to the Area Manager/Outside Plant Engineer for fielding.

Responsibilities

As a Wireline Telecom Sr Area Manager, you will effectively lead and manage Area operations relating to construction services, outside plant and engineering services, and design services.  

In addition, you will: 

  • Review and assign new projects to Outside Plant Engineers
  • Help with project prioritization based on need and escalation of these projects
  • Prepare electronic Job Packets with all maps, plans, and information needed for thorough review by OPE
  • Walkouts at sites with OPEs as needed, to have accurate information for project development
  • Help with project permitting and obtaining these permits as required to support the project and OPEs
  • Commit to constant communications with project customers and counterparts to keep information moving and manage their expectations
  • Encompass detailed use of the Comcast Job Tracking system, as well as assignment and closure of these projects
  • Review of all projects in the area and their management – from beginning to end
  • Problem-solve related to these projects, their design, and start/end dates
  • Forecast review and data entry to systems related to these projects, and estimated dollars
  • Purchase order process for these projects, as needed, and depending on non-standard items
  • Attend company and customer meetings as required
  • Manage up to 10 or more people, depending on the facility or area
  • Commit to final Construction project Job Packet completion and include all required documents
  • Regularly evaluate the performance of all employees according to procedures, and continually nurture employee development
  • Conduct company-wide safety practices, policies, and training
  • Review safety violation enforcement and disciplinary action
  • Conduct safety training and compliance
  • All other duties as assigned

  • You have a valid US driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Lift and carry up to 70 lbs
  • Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build process
  • Highly organized person who can show planning and processes to support daily work
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, like Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to become proficient with customers' “Host Systems”
  • Understanding of RF and Fiber network architectures 
  • Ability to manage multiple staff members
  • Can interface with customers on/off-site as required
  • Professional and effective leader
  • Effective Project Manager (ability to manage multiple projects at one time)
  • Practical and conceptual thinking as related to project descriptions and needs
  • Excellent verbal, written, phone, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Dependable, flexible to work weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Ability to be on-call, as needed
  • Work independently under minimal supervision
  • Sales experience relating to construction projects
  • Negotiation and compromise skills
  • You must have wireline experience leading crews in underground construction fiber deployment

Compensation of $85,000-$115,000 annually, depending on the experience.
