The Senior Project Manager has total responsibility for the total construction project through subcontract award, construction, and close-out. The SPM provides administrative and technical instruction to ensure each project is completed according to design, budget, schedule, and specifications. The Senior Project Manager has the ability to deliver high quality work, is detail oriented and uses effective problem-solving skills throughout the entire construction process.
Role Expectations and Competencies
  • Demonstrates leadership skills by interfacing with client representatives and plans and coordinates with other WSC employees.
  • Oversees the total construction process to ensure the project is constructed according to design, budget, and schedule.
  • Responsible for estimating and review of project estimates before submission to Owner and Clients.
  • Ensure lien rights are established at the start of a project and protect them during construction and at completion of project.
  • Exemplifies leading strategic thinking skills when developing plans to identify risk management issues such as poor documentation or subcontractor financial stability, and when utilizing advanced decision-making skills in developing win-win solutions and providing guidance and direction.
  • Implement and manage subcontracts, purchase orders, and owner change orders.
  • Displays well-rounded financial awareness when reporting cost projections, allowance tracking, contingency management, and overall project profit.
  • Collaborate with Pre-Construction and Business Development teams to secure new work, profitability, client satisfaction, and the best subcontractors for the job.
  • Builds lasting relationships with all team members by acting with the highest level of ethics and integrity.
  • Develops high-performance teams through coaching and mentoring to ensure their skills and capabilities are being developed.
  • Effectively motivates, leads, trains and develops people while fostering a culture of excellence and work environment that attracts and retains strong teams.
  • Inspires team to expand their capabilities and skills in order to position themselves for advancement within the Company.
  • Manages and mentors project team to ensure their goals and capabilities are being developed.

Job Requirements
Education amp; Experience:
  • B.S. in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred or 10+ years of experience. Depending upon the project size, scope, and complexity the years of experience may vary.
  • Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
  • Travel is required.
Working Conditions
Work is completed in an office setting or on job sites in an office trailer or in an existing structure. Due to daily condition changes on construction projects, when employees are outside of the office trailer or structure, they must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the company's safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
The project team and/or team member may need to move to other projected work geographic locations, as necessary.

Typical Physical Needs
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Require normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. May need to climb stairs, ladders and/or scaffolding and lift up to 30 pounds.
