Job description

  • About the Role

Digital Guru is looking for a VOIP/Telecom Project Technician to join our Fergus Falls team. This role is built for someone who loves the technical side of telecom deploying and managing VOIP systems, running client cutover projects, and troubleshooting the infrastructure that keeps businesses connected while also staying sharp on the fundamentals of hands-on IT support.
This is a hybrid role: roughly 70% VOIP/telecom project management and technical work, and 30% Tier 2 IT support. You'll spend most of your time owning telecom projects end-to-end, with the remainder split between hardware, software, and network troubleshooting for our clients. We're a 100% Microsoft shop, so you'll be working across Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server environments every day.
    What You'll Do

Telecom & VOIP Project Work (70%)
  • Lead and support VOIP deployment and migration projects from planning through go-live, including site cutovers and client onboarding
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot VOIP platforms, SIP trunking, and PBX systems
  • Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to keep telecom projects on schedule and within scope
  • Design and document telecom infrastructure and call-flow solutions tailored to client needs
  • Serve as the go-to technical resource for VOIP and telecom issues across our client base
  • Manage project timelines, client communication, and post-implementation support for telecom rollout

Tier 2 IT Support (30%)

  • Troubleshoot and repair hardware, software, and network issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain systems within our Microsoft 365 / Azure / Windows Server environment
  • Provide top-tier customer support as a trusted technical resource for clients
  • Support cybersecurity best practices to help keep client environments secure
  • Assist users with onboarding, training, and adoption of new software and systems

Requirements

  • Experience with VOIP systems, SIP trunking, or PBX platforms hands-on deployment or migration experience strongly preferred
  • Comfort managing technical projects: timelines, vendor coordination, and client communication
  • Solid IT troubleshooting experience across hardware, software, and networks
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Windows Server, Intune)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • A proactive mindset and genuine interest in telecom and emerging technology trends

Why Join Digital Guru

  • A role where telecom project ownership is the main event, not an afterthought
  • Work exclusively within a modern Microsoft stack no juggling multiple ecosystems
  • Competitive salary & benefits package
  • Real growth opportunities and continuous learning
  • A collaborative, innovative, and fun work environment

Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (401k, IRA)
  • Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability
  • Training & Development
  • Wellness Resources
