Project Manager II - New Generation Services

Role Overview
The Project Manager II is responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering New Generation Services (NGS) projects from conceptual development through engineering, procurement, construction, startup, performance testing, initial operations, and contract closeout. This role provides leadership to project teams and ensures projects are executed safely, within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with customer and Mitsubishi Power expectations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a single project exceeding $50M or serve as Deputy Project Manager on a larger project or program.
  • Facilitate communication of project status, health, risks, and opportunities with stakeholders and leadership.
  • Capture lessons learned and provide after-action reviews and project summaries.
  • Identify project risks, issues, and opportunities through contract and execution reviews and implement mitigation plans.
  • Develop and maintain project baseline financial performance with support from estimating and cost control teams.
  • Provide regular cost reporting, forecasting, and project analysis.
  • Oversee development and execution of integrated project schedules, including critical path activities.
  • Ensure resources are aligned and executing according to project plans and recovery strategies.
  • Develop change order execution strategies, pricing approaches, and scope expansion opportunities.
  • Lead all phases of project execution using Mitsubishi Power project management standards and methodologies.
  • Monitor and control project scope, cost, schedule, performance, and configuration changes.
  • Facilitate project meetings and coordinate internal and external communication activities.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor invoices and support commercial negotiations as necessary.
  • Prepare project closeout documentation, warranty deliverables, retainage releases, and final payments.
  • Support continuous improvement and advancement of project management best practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Four to six (4-6) years of experience managing large power generation or industrial projects.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of project management, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Office applications, and engineering documentation systems.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and construction locations as required.
