Step Into a Role Where Your Experience Gets Used

GCS Group runs active telecom HDD crews out of Red Deer and we need an Intermediate Telecom HDD Locator who can hold their own on a busy job site. At this level we're looking for someone who has moved past the basics — you know SubSite, you've worked alongside drill operators, and you can manage a locate from start to finish without constant direction.

We keep our crews working. Telecom infrastructure projects in Alberta aren't slowing down and neither are we. If you want consistent hours, a solid crew, and a company that rewards performance, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently execute locate duties on telecom HDD bores across central Alberta
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate SubSite locating systems on each bore
  • Maintain active communication with Ditch Witch drill operators throughout bore operations
  • Identify utility conflicts and ground anomalies and communicate them immediately
  • Record bore data accurately and support field documentation requirements
  • Provide guidance to junior locators on site regarding equipment and procedures

What We're Looking For

  • Solid field experience in HDD locating on telecom or utility construction projects
  • Proven hands-on competency with SubSite locating technology
  • Comfortable working in coordination with Ditch Witch drill crews
  • All certifications must be current and verified prior to your start date
  • Self-directed with strong situational awareness on active construction sites
  • Valid driver's licence
