Job Description

Position           : Sr. Network Field Technician

Location          : Columbia, SC Hybrid (Relocation works here)

Duration         : Long term contract

Interview        : Virtual

Required Skills/Experience/Education:

  • 5+ years' experience of knowledge of data network services and data communications (Installing and implementing LAN and wireless infrastructure including switches, cabling, APs, and other components.)
  • 5+ years' experience of complex knowledge of data network design and equipment configurations.
  • 5+ years' experience of complex knowledge of office automation systems, fiber optics, and microcomputer hardware/software
  • A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field and experience in information technology systems or a related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
  1. Basic to moderately complex knowledge of data network services and data communications.
  2. Moderately complex to complex knowledge of methods of data network design and equipment configuration requirements.
  3. Moderately complex to complex knowledge of office automation systems, information processing operations, fiber optics, and microcomputer hardware/software as they relate to the latest trends in data networks connectivity.
  4. Moderately complex to complex knowledge of computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging, and maintenance techniques.
  5. Ability to assist with presenting technical and non-technical reports in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred Skills & Experiences:

  • 5+ years' experience of understanding of advanced Network configuration & protocol.
  • 5+ years' experience relating to cable management, patch panels, troubleshooting telecom/network closets
  • 5+ years' experience with wireless infrastructure, cloud-networking (SD-WAN, Azure) and VoIP technologies.
  1. Advanced network configuration & protocol knowledge.
  2. Skilled in cable management, patch panels, fiber optics, and troubleshooting in telecom/network closets.
  3. Ability to produce clear, comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and incident log.
  4. Familiarity with wireless infrastructure, cloud networking (SD-WAN, Azure), and VoIP technologies.

Basic Duties/Responsibilities:

•       Install and implement LAN and wireless infrastructure including switches, cabling, APs, and other components.

•       Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex network issues and implement root cause prevention.
