Summary of Position:

The Santo Domingo IT Department consists of a centralized service desk and related roles tied to specific computer, software, networking, and telecom functions. Requests are received via phone calls, emails, chats, and web submittals.

The IT Support and Help Desk Technician is to assist in the daily operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end-user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.

The position is responsible for first level problem determination, problem/incident recording, problem resolution and "fix-escalation" for Santo Domingo Pueblo staff. This person must be able to multi-task, work independently and have strong problem-solving, organizational, customer service and computer skills. Reliability and dependability are essential.

The responsibility of an IT Support and Help Desk Technician is to provide in-depth procedural & technical network end-user support with the highest level of customer satisfaction. Support will be provided using inbound phone calls, inbound chat, inbound & outbound email, instant messaging, or other tools as assigned & available. In some cases, the Specialist will dispatch service requests & escalate issues to appropriate points of contact defined within the support organization. The technician will be capable & effective in promoting internal education.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, or GED Equivalent; AND minimum of one (1) year of experience providing technical support, help desk services, or information technology support
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and participation in an on-call rotation, as needed.
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite Programs
  • Must have tower climbing and rigging certification from an authorized training facility or must be obtained within a timeframe established by the department
  • Must be highly organized and self-dependent.
  • Keres language proficiency is preferred.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check and new hire drug screen
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblo liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.

Typical Job Requirement:

  • Job may require, with certification, the maintenance of equipment at tower sites, to include the maintenance of equipment on the tower and the tower itself.
