Job description

Lead Field Technician – Satellite & Wireless Integration

Compensation: $45.00/hour (W2)

Perks & Benefits: Company Vehicle Provided + Up to $250/week Gas Reimbursement

Target Start Date: Mid-August

The Mission: Deploying High-Performance Network Connectivity

On behalf of WAVSYS Solutions, a leader in telecommunications deployment, we are seeking experienced Lead Field Technicians to drive a high-priority network integration project.

In this role, you will be responsible for the physical installation, precision cabling, and network commissioning of high-performance satellite terminals (Starlink Performance Kits) integrated with major carrier infrastructure. As a Lead Tech, you will own the high-level site integration, roof obstruction surveys, network configuration, and final site activation. You will initially operate alongside a partner tech before taking full independent ownership of site deployments across your assigned region.

Note: While candidates should reside within the primary target markets listed above, this role requires regional flexibility. Technicians will focus on local installations but must be willing to travel to neighboring markets as project demands shift.

Key Responsibilities & Core Tasks

  • Physical Equipment Mounting: Safely mount satellite terminals (dishes), install Advanced Power Supplies within equipment cabinets, and route specialized proprietary and Ethernet cabling.
  • Precision Site Surveys: Utilize professional mobile applications and software tools to perform roof surveys, identifying optimal mounting locations with a zero-obstruction view of the sky.
  • Network & Router Configuration: Program advanced routers, configuring static IP addresses, failover settings, and software handshakes with carrier network infrastructure.
  • Grounding & Code Compliance: Ensure all physical installations strictly meet local electrical codes as well as rigid carrier grounding, bonding, and weatherproofing standards.
  • Troubleshooting & Signal Optimization: Diagnose and resolve signal degradation issues, ranging from physical cable crimp defects to RF interference and software handshake errors.
  • Final Commissioning & Proof of Performance: Partner with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to activate and provision sites, executing final speed tests and submitting comprehensive "Proof of Performance" documentation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Telecom Field Experience: Proven hands-on experience in telecommunications field installation, wireless site integration, satellite equipment mounting, or high-level network cabling.
  • Network & Hardware Literacy: Strong understanding of router programming, IP configuration, failover systems, and Ethernet cabling standards.
  • Grounding & Weatherproofing: Direct experience applying carrier-grade grounding, bonding, and weatherproofing techniques to outdoor equipment.
  • Safety & Code Compliance: Meticulous attention to detail regarding local electrical codes, ladder safety, and rooftop work safety protocols.
  • Travel & Work Flexibility: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, be comfortable working outdoors/on roofs, and be willing to travel regionally as required by project volume.

Recruiter Note: We are actively building these regional teams for a mid-August launch. Candidates with direct experience in satellite dish mounting, router IP configuration, or carrier-grade cabinet work will be prioritized.
