Lead Telecom Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Lead Telecom Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications systems across various project sites. This role requires a strong understanding of network infrastructure, structured cabling, and telecommunications equipment, with an emphasis on delivering exceptional service.

The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber splicing, network installation, and troubleshooting complex systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This position is a project lead role requiring both leadership and hands-on technical expertise.

Requirements include a current BICSI TECH certification and an active security clearance. Travel to multiple global project locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project teams and coordinate with technicians and stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution of installation plans.

  • Perform fiber splicing and structured cabling work using low-voltage wiring standards (Cat5, Cat6) and NEC compliance.

  • Conduct network installations and upgrades in data centers and client facilities according to schematics and technical specifications.

  • Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to diagnose issues and repair cabling and network infrastructure.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed using schematics and network diagrams.

  • Provide on-site field service support for Ethernet LAN setups, telephony systems, and related network components.

  • Support repair and maintenance of telecom equipment while adhering to electrical and safety standards.

  • Communicate technical issues clearly to clients and provide effective solutions.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Telecom Technician or Service Technician in telecommunications or IT infrastructure.
