Responsibilities

Summary of Duties:

Telecom Inspectors are responsible for overseeing and verifying telecom construction projects across Massachusetts. This role involves on-site inspections of telecom infrastructure to ensure installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in both outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) telecom systems, along with strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site inspections of new telecom construction throughout Massachusetts
  • Inspect telecom installations, including equipment, cabling, and connections, to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards
  • Review of OSP and ISP components of telecom builds
  • Evaluate As-Built designs prior to performing inspections
  • Coordinate inspection activities with project stakeholders, including grantees and building owners
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of inspections, testing results, and non-conformances
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements
  • Perform inspections in all building areas, including basements, risers, and rooftops

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in telecom infrastructure
  • In-depth knowledge of telecom systems, architecture, and design
  • Hands-on experience in designing, installing, or inspecting both:
    • Telecom outside plant (OSP)
    • Telecom inside plant (ISP)
  • Experience with FTTH, FTTU, and FTTX network design, construction, or inspection
  • Familiarity with the following standards and codes:
    • NESC (National Electrical Safety Code)
    • NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) codes
    • BICSI and ANSI standards for telecom infrastructure
