Primary PurposeContract with potential to convert to permanent. Functions in an engineering technician capacity. Under close supervision, performs work requiring basic technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards and document control processes/procedures for the purpose of creating or modifying deliverables.Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesRole will be responsible for drafting/design for a wireline (OSP/Fiber) Telecom project.Â
Engineering Standards: Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and maintaining a working knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and B&V policies and procedures.Â
Quality / Continuous Improvement: Ensures that deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing an understanding and complying with the B&V Quality Program. Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.Â
Engineering Production: Learns the applications required to modify less complex deliverables based on a variety of design inputs.Â
Client Focus: Learns to identify the needs of internal clients and begins to gain a basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers.Â
Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology: Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes.Minimum QualificationsProficient knowledge/experience with AutoCAD either via school, internship, or work experience.Preferred Job QualificationsDiploma or Certificate preferred.Â
Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred. GCSC (Draft generic educational equivalent requirement).Â
Prior internship/work experience using AutoCADÂ
Prefer 1 year recent experience in a Drafting/Design.Â
Prefer experience/knowledge in one or more of the following:Â
1. Drafting in OPTI or ARAMISÂ
2. Wireline (Fiber / OSP drafting) and/or Wireless.Â
3. Experience with drafting/design in multiple software programsÂ
Non-Technical: Learning on the Fly, Problem Solving, Perseverance, Patience, Time Management, Drive for Results, Self Development, Customer Focus, Listening, Informing. Technical: Working knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other applications or design or modeling skills. Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and B&V policies and procedures. Basic industry knowledge and technology trends.
