Position Summary:

This position offers a clear path to move into a Construction Manager role, which comes with higher base pay and production bonuses once you’ve completed your first 90 days.


RLM Underground is seeking Telecom Construction Supervisors with prior underground telecom experience to support our growing construction operations in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This role is responsible for overseeing construction sites, ensuring employee and crew safety, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and homeowners. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance field oversight, quality control, and customer satisfaction.


Must be willing and able to travel as needed. RLM provides a company truck, fleet fuel card, laptop or iPad with keyboard case, and a monthly phone stipend. Lodging is fully arranged and paid for, and we offer a strong employee benefits package.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • To be on site anytime drills are operating at the job site
  • Oversee construction sites to ensure a high level of quality, safety, and compliance
  • Maintain strong customer and homeowner relations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist customers and homeowners with complaints, restoration concerns, and project questions
  • Guarantee that all work is performed in accordance with approved documents, standards, and procedures
  • Ensure projects are completed in a timely, efficient, and safe manner
  • Lead and direct ground crews daily, providing guidance and on-site decision-making
  • Develop accurate redlines, daily reports, and jobsite documentation
  • Manage jobsite procurement, including straw, seed, cutters, shovels, batteries, tarps, paint, and other materials
  • Monitor schedule updates and communicate changes as needed
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of job sites, company equipment, and vehicles
  • Conduct daily inspections of company vehicles, equipment, and active jobsites
  • Support a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $65K - $75K with an opportunity for quick advancement to a Construction Manager role that offers a higher base salary and production bonuses following 90 days in the CM role.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Residing in Iowa is highly preferred.
  • Experience in underground or aerial telecommunications construction

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to direct crews and manage multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A valid driver’s license is required, and the ability to travel to job sites as needed with the use of a company vehicle
