Seeking a Structural Steel Detailer for a direct hire opportunity with our client in the Madera/Fresno California area. This position offers relocation assistance for qualified candidates!

Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailer to produce accurate fabrication drawings, review construction plans, and prepare submittals for structural and miscellaneous steel projects. This role works closely with project management, engineering, and fabrication teams to ensure quality, accuracy, and on-time project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret architectural, structural, and related construction drawings.
  • Prepare structural and miscellaneous steel shop drawings and submittals using Tekla Structures.
  • Calculate dimensions, elevations, layouts, and construction tolerances.
  • Identify drawing conflicts and coordinate solutions with project teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, and fabrication personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track detailing schedules and communicate project progress to internal teams.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years of structural steel detailing or related construction experience.
  • Proficiency with Tekla Structures (required); AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection, and construction practices.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
  • Knowledge of drawing scales, sections, elevations, and construction tolerances.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed and safely navigate construction environments.
