The Activity Leader supports the effective implementation of program activities.  This role promotes social, physical, spiritual, and mental development while modeling the core values of caring, honesty, and responsibility for all program participants.  The Activity Leader also assists in supervising staff and provides leadership in the Director’s absence. 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required. 

  • Minimum high school diploma, or equivalent, required. 

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with youth is preferred. 

  • Passionate about working with teens with the ability to interact and communicate effectively. 

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children, family and YMCA staff. 

  • Supervisory and administrative skills including ability to supervise program participants and maintain required program documentation and records. 

  • Completion of all position-specific and required YMCA training within established deadlines.
