Job description

Motion Designer
Are you passionate about AI and eager to work on groundbreaking projects? Do you want to be a major part of a rock-star team in a rapidly growing startup, collaborate with industry leaders, and make a real impact in the legal landscape? Do you want ownership in a startup building something people want with real paying users and significant traction? Here's your chance!
About the role
24 months since we launched, we're already adding 7 figures of ARR per month.
We've built a rockstar team of engineers, AI researchers, and patent attorneys.
We're now looking for a super-talented, high-energy, and ambitious Motion Graphics Designer to play a key role in our company's growth and product launches. You will lead our social media motion graphics promotions.
You will lead our social media and conference motion graphics promotions, while working closely with our design, GTM, and product teams.
In this role, you will:
  • Develop a user-centric motion design system that scales to all products within our platform.
  • Work closely with our design, GTM, and product teams to bring scripts to life.
  • Partner with our design team to animate assets that can be embedded into the product experience.
  • QA work to ensure designs and creative assets are polished, on brand, and ready for release.
  • Help us execute efficiently to ship products that deliver value and impact for our customers.
Who you'll work with
Sanj (Chief Research Officer and co-founder): Sanj did his MSci in Physics at the University of Cambridge and his PhD in AI at the Gatsby Unit, UCL. He won awards at top AI conferences, worked on the R&D team at Huawei, and received widespread attention for his contributions to open-source LLM GitHub projects. He joined Magic Carpet AI as employee #4, where he developed AI strategies for trading which deployed millions of capital before being acquired by Blockchain.com.
Chris (Chief Executive Officer and co-founder): Chris did his undergrad at Imperial College, masters at the University of Cambridge, and PhD at UCL, during which he published 10+ publications and won awards in top AI conferences and journals. He has worked in leading tech organisations, including Dyson, The Alan Turing Institute, and InstaDeep before its acquisition by BioNTech.
Angus (Chief Technology Officer and co-founder): Angus did an MEng in Computer Science at the University of Bristol where he won a cyber security scholarship at GCHQ before working at Qualcomm. He then joined a London-based hedge fund, Coremont (Brevan Howard). There, he led a small team to build a greenfield trade processing platform which scaled to millions of trades per day.
You'll also work with the rest of our super talented team of AI researchers, software engineers, patent attorneys, and go-to-market experts.
Who you are
We are a young company of highly motivated, ambitious, and hard-working individuals building a billion-dollar business. Our fundamental motivation is to build a state-of-the-art AI product to assist humans in generating intellectual property and to have mass market adoption of our software.
To thrive in this environment, you'll have the following characteristics: You're motivated to move fast - you prioritise speed, are always itching to move faster, and want to close deals on the order of days, not weeks or months. You're passionate about mass adoption of AI - we're at the beginning of an exponential curve, and we want to take the latest AI technology and build it into a useful product as quickly as possible. You're a driven individual with a strong work ethic - our team is committed to going the extra mile, even if it means working long nights and weekends to achieve our goals. You strive for excellence in every aspect of your work - you take ownership of your outcomes and overdeliver on your goals. You're humble, eager to learn whatever it takes to help your team and customers succeed, and an optimist who thrives in a positive environment.
What you bring
As our first Motion Designer, you will have extensive experience with motion graphics.
Must haves:
  • 3+ years of experience with Motion Graphics. Your ability to create such videos should be evidenced by your previous work/portfolio.
  • Ability to turn very technical products and features into highly engaging, intuitive, and professional motion graphics and animations.
  • Ability to deal in an often ambiguous environment.
  • Self-directed, solution-oriented, and ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use motion to narrate user experience based on users' behaviors, needs, and emotions.

  • Master in After Effects and Figma.
  • Low ego, collaborative, positive attitude, and open-minded.
  • Creative thinking toward establishing and executing on the vision for team initiatives.

Preferred haves:
