We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our dynamic Civil Engineering firm, specializing in large-scale land development projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying engineering drawings, site plans, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D. This role requires strong attention to detail, an understanding of civil engineering principles, and experience with land development projects, including grading, stormwater management, and utility design.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed site development and civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Assist engineers in designing and drafting grading plans, roadway layouts, stormwater management systems, and utility infrastructure.
  • Interpret survey data, topographic maps, and GIS information to develop accurate designs.
  • Generate construction drawings, profiles, cross-sections, and as-built documentation.
  • Ensure that designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and engineering best practices.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Maintain project documentation, version control, and drawing standards.
  • Perform quality control checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or Technical Certificate in Computer-Aided Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a CAD Technician in a civil engineering or land development setting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required (experience with GIS, Revit, or MicroStation is a plus).
  • Knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater, road design, and utility layouts.
  • Familiarity with surveying principles and the ability to interpret legal descriptions, topographic maps, and field data.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software (e.g., StormCAD, HEC-RAS) is a plus.
  • Understanding of municipal permitting and zoning regulations related to land development.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and materials used in civil engineering projects.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
If you are a detail-oriented CAD Technician with experience in large-scale land development, we encourage you to apply and be part of a firm that delivers high-quality civil engineering solutions.
