Job description

SERD, LLC is hiring a skilled Roof Deck Foreman. On a daily basis, you'll lead a team through supervision, training and coaching to ensure the team delivers a quality roof decking system to the customer. You'll also ensure that all equipment is in good working condition. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership background providing training, and fostering teamwork in construction projects with an emphasis on safety, quality and efficiency. We are willing to train the right person. We love to promote from within.
SERD is a specialty subcontractor providing lightweight insulation concrete (LWIC) roof decks, metal decking, tectum acoustical roof deck panels, and engineered fills. SERD was originally founded as Southeastern Roof Decks in 1963 and for 50 years primarily specialized in lightweight insulating concrete roof deck systems. SERD continues to provide top quality construction services to customers and operates in Georgia, Tennessee, The Carolinas, and Alabama.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervise the entire roof decking process and team
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of assigned construction projects
  • Plan daily work goals to complete jobs on time while ensuring both efficiency and quality
  • Conduct on-site safety meetings and ensure all safety protocols are being followed
  • Supervise, train and coach crew members and subcontractors to ensure high-quality work and adherence to project specifications
  • Communicate with the superintendent and office support personnel to provide updates and address any issues or concerns
  • Ensure that all necessary equipment and tools are used in the proper manner and properly maintained
  • Maintain an accurate equipment & materials inventory
  • Maintain a work environment that adheres to all company and OSHA standards
  • Submit timely and accurate timesheets, expense reports, delivery tickets, etc.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
  • Travel to various job sites, 75% weekday overnight travel
  • Overtime as required
  • Communication skills
  • Ability to work at heights as well as access heights from a ladder
  • Other job-related tasks as requested by the Superintendent
  • Must enjoy working outside in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work occasional weekend day(s)
  • 90-day Probationary period

REQUIREMENTS - SERD is a drug-free workplace
  • 2-3 years of experience in the commercial construction industry
  • Normal vision and hearing
  • Clean driving record (no DUI's or super speed tickets in the last 5 years)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel
  • 30-hour OSHA certification helpful but not required. We will help you get your certifications
