Job description


Mortenson is currently seeking a Risk Management Coordinator focused on trade partner insurance compliance. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in risk management and insurance operations. The coordinator will support with compliance activities, over time, develop into a point of contact for project teams and trade partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support administration of trade partner insurance compliance across projects
  • Review insurance certificates, endorsements, and contract requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Track insurance status and follow up on missing, expiring, or non-compliant documentation
  • Assist with CCIP/OCIP enrollment and required documentation with guidance from senior team members
  • Maintain accurate insurance data in RMIS and trackers to support reporting and visibility
  • Identify and flag incomplete or non-standard submissions and support resolution of routine compliance issues
  • Assist in preparing compliance reports, status updates, and renewal tracking for project teams
  • Communicate insurance requirements and coordinate documentation with trade partners, project teams, and external partners
  • Support team operations by maintaining process documentation, templates, and training materials

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, internship, or ~2 years of relevant experience in administrative support, construction, or a related field
  • Experience with data entry and ability to maintain accurate information in systems and databases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow established processes, identify inconsistencies or missing information, and escalate issues appropriately
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional, team-based environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, professional, customer service-oriented approach
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adapt to a dynamic work environment
  • Exposure to insurance, contracts, compliance documentation, or construction project coordination
  • Experience working with databases, tracking systems, or enterprise tools (e.g., RMIS, Riskonnect, or similar systems)
  • Familiarity with or interest in learning about Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP/OCIP)
  • Experience supporting process documentation, templates, or administrative workflows

The base pay range for this role is $43,800 - $59,200. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
