Job description

Are you a hands-on purchasing, materials, MRO, or parts room leader who can balance strategic supplier support, purchasing execution, inventory discipline, and plant service needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

Drylock Technologies in Eau Claire, WI is looking for a Purchasing Manager to support purchasing activity tied to more than $100 million in corporately sourced raw materials, while also leading local purchasing follow-through, MRO inventory performance, parts room organization, and maintenance service levels.

This is a true player-coach leadership role—ideal for someone who can partner with corporate sourcing, lead a purchasing team, improve supplier and order follow-through, stabilize the parts room, and stay close enough to the work to remove barriers for maintenance, production, and operations.

Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.  This role does not support sponsorship.

Why This Role Matters

This role sits at the intersection of purchasing, materials support, and plant execution. The position supports purchasing activity connected to more than $100 million in corporately sourced raw materials through the purchasing team, while also taking on a meaningful MRO and parts room improvement challenge. The successful leader will help bring more structure, accuracy, ownership, and service discipline to a busy parts room environment that directly impacts maintenance readiness, downtime response, and production support.

  • Support the purchasing team responsible for corporately sourced raw materials
  • Partner with corporate sourcing, suppliers, operations, maintenance, and production to keep materials, parts, and services moving
  • Improve purchasing follow-through, order discipline, delivery visibility, supplier responsiveness, and escalation processes
  • Stabilize and improve the MRO parts room as a key operational priority, including creating better organization, clearer ownership, stronger inventory discipline, and more reliable support for maintenance and production
  • Strengthen parts availability, inventory accuracy, storage organization, and service expectations for maintenance and production support

 What You’ll Own

  • Leadership of the purchasing team supporting corporately sourced raw materials and related purchasing activity
  • Local purchasing execution, including purchase orders, supplier follow-up, delivery tracking, expediting, issue resolution, and internal customer support
  • Partnership with corporate sourcing to align plant needs, raw material requirements, supplier communication, and purchasing priorities
  • MRO parts room leadership, including improving organization, accountability, service expectations, transaction discipline, labeling, storage practices, follow-through, and day-to-day issue resolution
  • MRO inventory strategy, including addressing excess, obsolete, hard-to-find, duplicated, or poorly classified parts while strengthening critical spares, min/max levels, cycle counts, replenishment discipline, and inventory accuracy
  • Parts availability and responsiveness to maintenance work orders, urgent repairs, planned shutdowns, and production support needs
  • Daily leadership of buyers and parts room team members with clear expectations, coaching, communication, and accountability

This Role May Be a Strong Fit If You

  • Have led purchasing, materials, supply chain, MRO, storeroom, maintenance inventory, or plant materials functions in manufacturing
  • Understand how purchasing execution, supplier responsiveness, raw material support, and order follow-through impact production performance
  • Can partner effectively with corporate sourcing while keeping local plant needs visible and moving forward
  • Know how to create order in a busy parts room where availability, accuracy, labeling, storage discipline, and responsiveness all need to improve without losing urgency or customer service
  • Can lead people while staying close enough to the work to remove barriers and improve daily execution
  • Communicate well with purchasing, maintenance, production, warehouse, suppliers, and corporate sourcing

What Drylock Offers

  • A stable, full-time leadership role in an essential manufacturing environment
  • The opportunity to influence purchasing execution, supplier follow-through, raw material support, inventory accuracy, and plant service levels
  • A visible role supporting high-value purchasing activity and day-to-day plant reliability
  • A team-focused culture built around safety, quality, continuous improvement, and accountability
  • Work that supports essential hygiene products used by millions of people every day

What You Bring

  • 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing purchasing, materials, supply chain, MRO, maintenance stores, inventory, or plant operations leadership
  • Experience leading or supporting purchasing teams, supplier follow-up, purchase order execution, expediting, and internal customer service
  • Ability to work with corporate sourcing, plant operations, maintenance, production, warehouse, and suppliers to resolve material and purchasing issues
  • Hands-on experience improving a parts room, storeroom, MRO inventory, or plant materials function where processes, layout, ownership, inventory accuracy, and service levels needed to be strengthened
  • Strong understanding of critical spares, min/max planning, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, replenishment processes, and ERP/MRP transaction discipline
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in an operational setting; SAP experience is helpful

Success Looks Like

  • A purchasing team that supports high-value raw material activity with stronger follow-through, communication, and execution discipline
  • Better visibility to order status, supplier issues, delivery timing, escalations, and purchasing priorities
  • A more organized, accurate, labeled, accessible, and service-focused MRO parts room that maintenance and production can rely on
  • Better availability of critical spares, repair parts, raw material support items, and maintenance supplies
  • Improved min/max discipline, cycle count accuracy, ERP transaction quality, inventory control, part identification, and replenishment consistency
  • A purchasing and parts room team that understands expectations and takes ownership of plant execution

Interested?

  • If you are a hands-on purchasing, materials, MRO, parts room, or supply chain leader who wants to make a direct impact on supplier follow-through, raw material support, maintenance readiness, and plant performance, we would like to talk with you.
