Job description

IT Product Owner

Location: Midvale, UT, 84047

Job Summary

ZAGG is looking for an IT Product Owner to own and drive the backlog for one or more of our core business systems, including our ERP platform. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology: you'll work directly with business stakeholders to understand how they work, identify opportunities to improve efficiency, translate those opportunities into clear requirements and user stories, and see them through to a successful rollout.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with an aggressive, get-it-done attitude — someone who is highly motivated, fully committed to the role, and constantly pushing to make things happen faster.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the product backlog for assigned IT systems and applications, ensuring it is well-groomed, prioritized, and aligned to business value.
  • Prioritize work based on business impact, urgency, and available delivery capacity, balancing competing stakeholder demands.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders across departments, acting as their primary point of contact for product-related needs.
  • Lead requirement gathering sessions with business users to understand current processes, pain points, and desired outcomes.
  • Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria that development teams can execute against without ambiguity.
  • Coordinate and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, stakeholder sign-off, and defect triage.
  • Identify and drive process improvement initiatives, particularly around ERP and core business system usage.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business teams, IT, and vendors to align on solutions and delivery timelines.
  • Define, track, and report on KPIs to demonstrate the impact and value of delivered solutions.
  • Own release planning, coordinating timing, scope, and stakeholder communication for each release.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and implementation partners to ensure solutions are delivered on time and to specification.
  • Drive delivery end-to-end — from idea to implementation to rollout — keeping teams and stakeholders accountable to deadlines.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of ERP functionality and how business users interact with it day to day.
  • Partner with business users to define solutions that increase efficiency, then support hands-on implementation and rollout.
Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner within an IT or ERP environment.
  • Hands-on understanding of ERP systems and how business users engage with them in their daily workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to document requirements clearly, including writing user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Proven ability to manage a project end-to-end and drive it through to completion, keeping scope, timeline, and stakeholders on track.
  • Experience coordinating UAT cycles and managing stakeholder sign-off.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across business and technical teams.
  • Experience with backlog management and prioritization frameworks (e.g., Agile/Scrum, Kanban).
  • Ability to define, track, and report on KPIs tied to business outcomes.
  • Experience with release planning and coordinating vendor or implementation partner relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
  • Must be on-site at our Midvale, UT Office. Remote work will not be considered at this time.
What We're Looking For
  • An aggressive, results-driven attitude — someone who makes things happen rather than waiting for direction.
  • High motivation and full commitment to the role, with a genuine sense of ownership over outcomes.
  • A natural urgency and drive to move faster, cut through blockers, and accelerate delivery.
  • A proactive problem-solver who thrives on rolling up their sleeves and working directly with business users.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus.
  • Experience implementing or supporting ERP solutions (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing, retail, or consumer products environment.
  • Certification such as CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or equivalent.
