Technology Integration Manager information

What is a technology integration manager?

Technology Integration Managers are professionals responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of new technologies within an organization. They work to ensure that technology solutions are seamlessly integrated with existing systems and processes, helping to improve efficiency and productivity. Their role often involves collaborating with IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to assess technology needs, plan integration projects, and provide training and support to staff. They are key to ensuring that technology investments deliver the intended value and align with organizational goals.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a technology integration manager?

To thrive as a Technology Integration Manager, you need expertise in IT systems, project management, and a relevant degree such as in computer science or information technology. Familiarity with integration platforms (like MuleSoft or Dell Boomi), ERP/CRM systems, and certifications such as PMP or ITIL are typically required. Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities help coordinate teams and manage stakeholder expectations. These skills ensure seamless adoption of new technologies, minimize disruptions, and drive organizational efficiency.

How does a technology integration manager collaborate with cross-functional teams during large-scale implementation projects?

A Technology Integration Manager works closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and business unit leaders, to ensure seamless adoption of new technologies. They facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, manage project timelines, and address potential roadblocks proactively. Regular meetings, status updates, and collaborative workshops are common practices, helping to align goals and expectations while fostering a unified approach to integration challenges.

Job description

Director, Post-Merger Integration
Position Summary
Ricoh North America (RNA) is seeking a Post-Merger Integration (PMI) Lead to accelerate value realization from acquisitions and partnerships supporting our growth strategy in the North American market, with a primary focus on technology and software (Tech/SW) transactions. This role owns end-to-end integration program leadership, from diligence and Day-1 readiness through Day-100 stabilization and ongoing synergy realization; ensuring integration scope, costs, timelines, and value levers are clearly defined, actively managed, and delivered.
Reporting into the Corporate Development/M&A function, the PMI Lead is the single accountable owner for integration governance, cross-functional execution, and executive reporting for assigned deals. The role drives outcomes through influence and (as applicable) direct management of project resources, partnering with RNA functional leaders across Sales, Service/Delivery, Operations, Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Compliance, and Procurement to protect customers, maintain business continuity, and achieve committed synergy targets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end PMI for assigned acquisitions/partnerships in North America (primarily Tech/SW), accountable for integration outcomes, timeline, cost-to-achieve, and value realization.
  • Own integration planning during diligence: build the integration thesis (scope, approach, operating model impacts), identify Day-1 requirements, estimate integration effort/costs, and stress-test synergy assumptions with functional leaders and Finance.
  • Stand up integration governance: steering committee cadence, workstream charters, decision rights, escalation paths, and disciplined program management (integrated plan, RAID log, dependency and change control).
  • Drive Day-1 readiness and Day-100 execution to ensure business continuity, customer protection, and minimal disruption to field, service, and customer success operations.
  • Lead cross-functional workstreams (e.g., Commercial/Sales, Service & Delivery/Customer Success, Operations, Finance, HR, IT, Legal/Compliance, Procurement), with clear deliverables, owners, and milestones; remove blockers and secure timely decisions.
  • For Tech/SW deals, coordinate product, engineering, and IT integration considerations (e.g., platform/architecture alignment, tooling, SDLC, support model, data flows) and ensure required controls (security, privacy, compliance) are incorporated into the plan.
  • Partner with Finance to translate deal models into measurable initiatives with baselines/targets; track synergies and integration costs, report performance vs. plan, and drive corrective actions when variance occurs.
  • Develop integration communications and change plans (stakeholder mapping, leadership alignment, operating rhythm, culture considerations) to enable adoption and retention of key talent.
  • Provide executive-ready updates and decision briefs for RNA leadership, including progress dashboards, key risks, and recommended trade-offs.
  • Institutionalize best practices for RNA PMI: refine playbooks, templates, and lessons learned; coach workstream leads and strengthen integration capability over time.
  • Position is bonus eligible

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 8+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional programs (PMI, transformation, strategy execution, operations, or consulting) with measurable delivery outcomes.
  • 5+ years of direct PMI experience leading post-close integrations and/or separation activities (e.g., Day-1 readiness, Day-100 plans, TSA management, synergy tracking, and benefits realization governance).
  • Experience supporting and integrating Tech/SW businesses (e.g., SaaS, software products, managed services, or cloud-enabled solutions), including exposure to product/engineering or technology operating models.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead senior stakeholders in a complex organization, including facilitation of steering committees and driving timely decisions without formal authority.
  • Strong business acumen and financial fluency (integration cost-to-achieve, synergy baselines/targets, KPI design, and variance management) in partnership with Finance.
  • Experience with operating model and process integration across commercial, service/delivery, and enabling functions; comfort working with field organizations and customer-facing teams.
  • Change management experience (communications, org design/role clarity, leadership alignment, talent/retention risks) across acquired and existing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or certifications (PMP, Prosci, Lean/Six Sigma) preferred.

Critical Skills for Success
  • PMI leadership: translates deal rationale into an executable integration roadmap with clear governance, decision rights, and accountability.
  • Program management excellence: integrated planning, dependency management, change control, and disciplined RAID management.
  • Executive influence and facilitation: aligns leaders, resolves conflict, and drives timely decisions with incomplete information.
  • Tech/SW integration mindset: understands how product/engineering, SaaS operations, support models, and technology roadmaps impact integration sequencing and customer outcomes.
  • Value realization discipline: comfort with financials and performance management to ensure benefits are realized (including, where applicable, SaaS KPIs such as ARR/retention, churn, and cost-to-serve).
  • Risk and controls orientation: proactively partners with Legal/Compliance and security/privacy teams to incorporate required controls and reduce integration risk.
  • Change leadership: stakeholder mapping, communication planning, culture integration, and talent/retention risk management.
  • Clear, concise communication: produces decision briefs, dashboards, and narratives that create alignment and momentum across diverse stakeholders.

Key Interfaces
  • M&A Lead (sourcing, diligence, approvals)
  • RNA Executive Management Team (EMT)
  • Corporate Strategy, Finance, HR, IT, Operations, and Business Unit leadership
  • Ricoh regional and global stakeholders, as applicable
