Description

SUMMARY: The Director of IT will be responsible for uLab's technology strategy, application stack and infrastructure. This person will align technology operations with business goals, enable business processes, lead the technology team, ensure robust cybersecurity and disaster recovery plans, and manage the IT team and budget to enable improved, efficient business processes. Will serve as a technical liaison between Information Technology and all other operating departments. This position reports to the CFO.


 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the overall IT strategy, operations, and digital transformation initiatives to support business objectives in a mid-sized enterprise to ensure alignment between technology capabilities and organizational goals.

Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of robust IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, endpoints, and hybrid environments for reliability, scalability, and performance.

Drive enterprise-wide automation initiatives, including workflow automation, process optimization, and integration of intelligent automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual efforts.

Champion the adoption and responsible implementation of AI technologies, including generative AI solutions, machine learning applications, and data-driven insights to enhance business processes, decision-making, and innovation.

Manage data platforms, accessibility, governance, analytics, and integration strategies to ensure secure, reliable, and actionable data availability across the organization.

Develop and enforce IT cybersecurity, compliance, risk management, and disaster recovery programs. Maintain adherence to relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing IT team, including infrastructure, operations, automation, AI/specialized roles, and support staff. Foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

Manage the IT budget, vendor relationships, contracts, and technology procurement to optimize costs, deliver value, and ensure alignment with business priorities.

Collaborate with business unit leaders, HR, and other stakeholders to identify technology needs, prioritize projects, support change management, and address the impact of automation and AI on job responsibilities and workforce skills.

Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions that drive operational excellence, competitive advantage, and digital maturity.

Establish and track key performance metrics (KPIs) for IT service delivery, system uptime, project delivery, security posture, and ROI on technology investments.

Ensure seamless integration between internal IT platforms and any product-related systems or external partners, facilitating smooth operations and data flows.

Ensure manufacturing development complies with FDA, GMP, ISO, and other applicable regulatory requirements.


Requirements

 EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Computer Science or similar degree required.

MS in business administration preferred.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 9 years leading technology teams.

Experience managing enterprise IT operations, networking, cloud systems, cybersecurity, systems administration, data protection, and technology operations.

Exceptional leadership, Agile project management, and analytical problem-solving capabilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for interfacing with other departments.

Demonstrated ability to align technology solutions with business objectives and strategic initiatives.

Experience in deploying, optimizing, and maintaining NetSuite, Salesforce, AWS, Microsoft 365, Okta, Jira, and other required technologies to drive business growth.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful track record of business transformation utilizing technology and product development. Experience in quality systems, process control, and FDA compliance. Proven track record of success in a business unit. Exceptional technical aptitude and ability to create an innovative environment, communication skills, strong management skills for coaching and developing others, strong leadership ability to direct functional area and promote corporate citizenship. Role will operate from our corporate headquarters in Memphis, TN.
