Job description

Summary

The HR Intern supports Veradigm's HR team, primarily splitting time between Talent Development program support, Internal Communications activities, and Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. This part-time, school-year internship offers hands-on exposure to how a healthcare IT organization builds learning experiences and communicates them to the workforce. The intern will assist with content creation, logistics, and light data/reporting work, with growing opportunities to bring AI tools into everyday workflows, from drafting communications to organizing learning content, under the guidance of the L&D and Internal Communications teams.

Essential Functions

Learning & Development (50%)

  • Assist with building and updating learning content and course materials.

  • Help coordinate logistics for virtual and in person training sessions, workshops, and onboarding programs (scheduling, materials prep, attendance tracking)

  • Support the L&D team in gathering and organizing feedback/completion data for reporting.

  • Assist with light instructional content updates (job aids, quick-reference guides, slide decks)

Internal Communications

  • Build weekly internal newsletter, company announcements and other internal communications content

  • Use Microsoft Sharepoint to create intranet articles and news, manage documents and update resources.

  • Support drafting, formatting and proofreading of internal communications for tone, clarity, and brand consistency.

  • Help maintain internal communications calendars and track upcoming sends.

Cross-Functional

  • Look for opportunities to use AI tools (e.g., drafting assistance, summarization, content organization) to speed up routine L&D and communications tasks, with guidance from the team

  • Participate in team meetings across both L&D and Internal Communications, representing a blended perspective

  • Support Giveback and Employee Engagement initiatives as needed

Requirements

Education: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, preferably in Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field

Experience: Some prior professional experience preferred; coursework or extracurricular experience in writing, event coordination, or training/education settings is a plus

Education & Experience

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree, rising junior or senior preferred

  • Comfortable working part-time hours around a class schedule (hours/week to be confirmed by hiring manager)

Skills & Competencies

  • Familiarity with Sharepoint and Microsoft 365 tools preferred

  • Interest in learning Canva and other communications tools

  • Communicates clearly and adapts tone for different audiences (draft-level writing, with room to grow)

  • Organizes and tracks multiple small tasks/deadlines across two functional areas

  • Shows curiosity about applying AI tools to everyday work and is open to learning new systems (Workday Learning, Articulate 360 exposure a plus, not required)

  • Works comfortably in a hybrid, collaborative team environment

  • Receives and applies feedback readily; asks clarifying questions rather than guessing
