We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our Assurance Department. This team specializes in in audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements through all stages of an engagement, including planning and fieldwork, while working in a variety of industries with publicly traded and privately owned clients. Experience working directly with our clients and receive one-on-one training from our team to help you learn and grow in your career.

As an Intern, you will participate in all phases of the engagement. You will meet with clients, plan engagements, and assist with office wrap-up and report preparation. You will work with a variety of clients (within multiple industries) on engagements. You will be given the support you need to develop a breadth of skills and experiences that will enable you to achieve your goals. Responsibilities

  • Perform compilations, reviews, and audits of financial statements
  • Participation in client engagements, including auditing cash, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, PP&E, and debt maturity schedules along with assistance in revenue and expense testing
  • Possible exposure to individual tax preparation
  • Verify the validity and accuracy of client financial documents
  • Assist with drafting client communications
  • Assist with special projects (i.e., due diligence or mergers and acquisitions)
  • Participate in client discussions with key finance personnel including CEO, CFO and other key management
  • Learn and develop competency with necessary software

Requirements

  • Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and/or 150 credit hours
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA and a solid track record of academic achievements
  • Completion of intermediate accounting course(s)
  • Completion of some Advanced Accounting and/or Audit course(s) by time of internship
  • Awareness of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge of attestation standards
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in various accounting and other software, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exemplary communication and organizational skills
  • Strong desire to learn and develop professionally
  • Motivated to serve clients
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Internships are paid, full-time experiences which run January – April in our Eden Prairie, Minnesota office. We recruit well in advance of this time frame to allow youflexibility and time to make arrangements for housing and required classes.
