Job Overview
The DC Logistics Associate is responsible for safely moving parts, materials, equipment, and inventory into, out of, and around client data centers and warehouse environments using approved technology, tools, and material handling equipment. This entry-level role supports daily logistics operations including receiving, staging, inventory movement, basic system transactions, and general warehouse/data center support.
This role works under the direction of Logistics Specialists, Leads, and Managers and is expected to follow established procedures, safety requirements, and client-specific work instructions.
Active Construction Environment & Required PPE
This role operates within an active data center construction and deployment environment. Employees may work in or around construction zones, loading docks, staging areas, equipment pathways, partially completed data halls, and areas with ongoing trade activity. Work conditions may include exposure to moving equipment, construction materials, uneven surfaces, elevated noise levels, changing access routes, and other hazards commonly associated with active construction sites.
All employees are required to follow site safety rules, posted signage, access restrictions, and direction from site leadership, safety personnel, and authorized construction management representatives. Employees must remain aware of their surroundings at all times, use designated walkways and approved work areas, and immediately report unsafe conditions, near misses, damaged equipment, or potential hazards.
Required Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while operating in designated construction or deployment areas and may include, but is not limited to:
  • Hard hat
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • High-visibility vest or approved high-visibility clothing
  • Safety eyewear / eye protection
  • Work gloves

How You Will Make a Difference:
  • Safely move parts, equipment, and inventory throughout warehouse and data center environments.
  • Support receiving, staging, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping activities.
  • Assist with rack, server, cable, peripheral, spare parts, and general data center material movement.
  • Conduct basic inventory counts and assist with cycle count activities.
  • Perform accurate transactions in approved inventory, ticketing, or asset management systems.
  • Label, scan, sort, organize, and stage materials according to site procedures.
  • Use approved material handling equipment such as carts, pallet jacks, and other tools as trained and authorized.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, safety protocols, and escalation paths.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with 5S or equivalent workplace standards.
  • Communicate task status, inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or safety concerns to the appropriate team member or supervisor.
  • Support team goals related to service quality, accuracy, safety, and on-time completion.
  • Participate in required training and demonstrate a willingness to learn data center logistics processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of data center logistics operations.

What You Will Need to Succeed:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-1 year of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, material handling, retail stockroom, manufacturing, distribution, or related environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Basic computer, tablet, or mobile device literacy.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn inventory control practices.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team.
  • Positive, respectful, and professional attitude.
  • Ability to understand and follow workplace safety requirements.
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical work for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a warehouse, data center, distribution center, or technical operations environment.
  • Experience using barcode scanners, inventory systems, ticketing systems, or handheld devices.
  • Familiarity with pallet jacks, carts, or other basic material handling equipment.
  • Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, or asset tracking.
  • Customer service experience in a service-oriented environment.
  • Interest in developing a career in data center operations or logistics.

Data Center Work Expectations
  • Physical Environment: Work is performed in warehouse areas, loading docks, staging rooms, secure data halls, and other operational spaces within or near a data center. The role may require extended walking across large facilities and standing for most of the shift.
  • Safety Standards: Must follow all safety procedures, including safe lifting techniques, equipment operation rules, pedestrian pathways, emergency procedures, and incident reporting requirements. Associates are expected to stop work and escalate unsafe conditions.
  • Shift Expectations: Must be able to work assigned shifts, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, or overtime based on client and site needs.
  • Dress Code/PPE: Must comply with site dress code and wear required PPE, which may include safety shoes, high-visibility vest, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and other required equipment.
  • Security Requirements: Must comply with client security policies, access control procedures, badge requirements, escort rules, and confidentiality expectations. Background check and security clearance may be required based on client site requirements.
  • Unique Working Conditions: Work may occur near sensitive IT equipment, active construction areas, loading docks, and high-security operational zones. Associates must avoid unauthorized access, photography, or handling of equipment outside assigned responsibilities.

Travel Requirements
This role may require travel up to 25% based on client, site, project, training, or operational business needs.
