Associate Scientific Director

As an Associate Scientific Director with Clinical Communications, you will be working closely with a Scientific Director (SD) and an internal team dedicated to producing content for live meeting and video projects that will educate and inform healthcare providers with the goal of improving outcomes of care.

Your primary responsibilities will be focused on utilizing your clinical training, experience, and leadership abilities to analyze and interpret clinical data to help craft projects from conception through delivery to meet educational needs of audiences in various specialty fields. While working with both internal and external stakeholders to execute projects, you will also be in a position to continually learn to improve your understanding of important topics in healthcare from experts in the space. The opportunity exists to regularly engage healthcare thought leaders as well as present clinical information and perspectives to colleagues and clients.

In this role, you will represent Clinical Communications as a content expert while interfacing with clients, promotional review teams, key opinion leaders, and a variety of internal professional services to ensure content produced meets high standards of quality, accuracy, and relevance for audiences. Candidates must demonstrate superior communication skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly and multitask to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Identify client needs and provide informed strategic recommendations for the development of relevant, accurate, high quality scientific information for digital, video, and live meeting deliverables to educate care providers and patient audiences. Example content: outlines; scripts and slide decks for videos storyboards; discussion guides for slide presentations; and content for other digital programs (eg, interactive learning tools/modules)
  • Comprehend and apply relevant evidenced-based medical literature, clinical practice guidelines, and disease-state information for the development of content across various therapeutic areas (eg, identify levels of evidence, clinical trial data, clinical utility of therapeutic choices and unmet needs in treatment landscapes, product-specific education)
  • Support preparation of promotional video project materials for client medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) reviews; adhere to MLR process requirements for submission and compliance. Revise content as needed through its internal and external reviews along the project lifecycle (eg, incorporate client, faculty, promotional, and/or internal review comments)
  • Attend live events including professional conferences, advisory boards, and similar programming to capture presentation highlights or other content for project deliverables. This may include the development of presentation materials and summary documents and confidently presenting findings to clients and other stakeholders.
  • Provide support as a subject matter expert for business development efforts; work collaboratively with sales associates to identify and present opportunities for supported projects and programs; participate in project management functions (eg, SOW, development of timelines, budgets, etc)
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team and effectively communicate with a variety of internal professional services (project management, editorial, medical writers, and design services)
  • Interface regularly in meetings with clients and key opinion leaders/faculty to develop relationships and execute strategy to communicate complex scientific information to medical professionals

Qualifications

  • A clinical degree (PharmD) or advanced degree (MS, PhD) in the healthcare-related field (life sciences, biomedical sciences); and 1-3 years of experience in agency/medical communications company with promotional video, live meeting, or other digital deliverables
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, ability to multitask and handle multiple timelines, and excellent writing and problem-solving skills

Compensation Range:
$115,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for this position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
