THE POSITION:

At STACK, the Preconstruction Data Analyst Intern role is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of data, technology, and data center development. This role will support the Preconstruction and Development teams by helping to design, structure, and manage data systems that drive decision-making across projects.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve how data is organized, stored, and leveraged-supporting initiatives around data architecture, data management, AI integration, and software implementation. This position is ideal for someone interested in applying analytical and technical skills within a fast-paced, real-world infrastructure environment.

To be successful in this role, you should be a structured thinker with strong analytical instincts and attention to detail. You are comfortable working with large datasets, enjoy solving complex problems, and are eager to explore emerging technologies like AI and automation. You can operate both strategically and tactically, communicate effectively across teams, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

As a successful Preconstruction Data Analyst Intern, you will build strong cross-functional relationships while contributing to foundational data initiatives that enhance project delivery. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the data center development lifecycle while developing highly transferable technical and analytical skills.

In this role, you may assist the Preconstruction Team with these tasks:

  • Support the development and organization of data architecture frameworks for preconstruction workflows

  • Assist in structuring and standardizing datasets across projects (cost, schedule, vendor, and design data)

  • Help implement and maintain data management best practices, including data cleanliness, consistency, and governance

  • Partner with internal teams to evaluate and integrate AI tools that improve data analysis, forecasting, and reporting

  • Assist with software implementation efforts related to data platforms, dashboards, and workflow tools

  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support decision-making

  • Analyze historical project data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities

  • Collaborate with Preconstruction, Development, and Construction teams to align data structures with business needs

  • Support data migration, validation, and quality assurance efforts across systems

  • Document processes, data standards, and system workflows for internal use

  • Assist in preparing data-driven insights for presentations, reports, and business cases

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Progressing toward a four-year degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working with data in tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or similar

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)

  • Interest in data architecture, data management, and emerging technologies like AI/ML

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively across teams

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Exposure to database design or data modeling concepts

  • Experience with automation tools or scripting

  • Familiarity with construction, real estate development, or infrastructure projects

  • Experience supporting software implementations or system integrations

Compensation Range:

$22.26 - $24.38
